John Ware (Cowboy/Rancher) (1845-1905)
John Ware was born into slavery in 1845 on a cotton plantation in Georgetown, South Carolina. As soon as emancipation was declared, Ware left. At 18, he ended up in Texas and began working on a ranch, eventually becoming a steer herder working in and around Montana. He was recruited to help a friend drive a herd of 3,000 cattle across the border to Canada, eventually arriving in Alberta. He would be one of the first Black people to step foot in the area. Ware settled to a ranch and remained there until his death in 1905. He is remembered for his strength, horsemanship, and bringing his savvy farming skils while being an influence on the early years of the ranching industry in Canada.

Measuring Tips & Size Chart
Use a ribbon/string and ruler or a seamstress tape measure to determine your hat size. Start at the top of your ear and measure about 1/4 inch-1/2 inch upward (or as high as you want that feels the most comfortable to you). Next,  from there measure the circumference of your head.
